While in high school, Marie meets Bob Anderson and they fall in love. Marie is thrilled to have her very own family and to become a mother. Marie is set up for heartbreak once again as Bob deserts her and the children. Left pregnant with her fourth child and her daughter with a severe case of polio, her problems only worsen.
